Honeycomb - Non Carnival and Canvival

Note:  The green non carnival honeycomb is sometime identified as a spittoon.

Colors:  Base glass can be Clear, Rose, Blue, and Green.  On non Carnival rose bowls they are found with clear, gold or silver frit.  Some examples are found with light iridescent finish (a silver sheen).  One example know in milk glass with ruby frit. 

On Carnival rose bowls no frit is used and there are two finished colors of the carnival; one, Marigold and the other Peach opalescent.

Glass Type:  Transparent glass same base mold used as on National Oriental / Venetian rose bowls.

Bowl:  Basic shape of the rose bowl is spherical with eight  inward pinched crimps, internal vertical 20 bar or scallop optic.  The rose bowl also has a collar base (marie) flat bottom to slight concave where pontil rod was attached.  Bowl has a slight convex interior, in the collar base area.  Slight roll or flair to lip of crimp area, heat (fire) smoothed. 

Decoration:  Frit glass application normally not found with a iridized finished but can be.   

Dimension: 3.75 height by 4.25 wide.  Bowl opening 1.75.
